I get a lot of questions in my inbox about Verbier this time of the year so I thought I would give you some recommendations. If you think all mountain resorts go to sleep when the ski season ends, think again. Over 500 km of signposted trails guide hiking across the Verbier heights and the Val de Bagnes. Seasoned hikers can set out to discover classic routes such as the Tour du Val de Bagnes and Tour des Combins. Mountain-bike enthusiasts will find plenty of itineraries – no less than 826 km – and a bike park. * Between Les Ruinettes and La Chaux, at an altitude of 2300 m, the works exhibited are created by international artists invited to Verbier every two years. Accessible throughout the year, the Verbier 3-D Sculpture Park creates a space where art and ecology meet the mountain. * If you are lazy: Just grab the lift and enjoy the view. * From Fontaney, climb in the direction of Les Attelas, and then drop down to the Lac des Vaux. After a refreshing break, follow the Col des Mines and walk along the side to the Croix de Coeur. The return is via the Planards and the Mayens du Clou. * Lunch at Marlenaz, a traditional mountain restaurant, located on the Savoleyres side of Verbier. * Or, lunch at Cabane Brunet. Can you see the restaurant? Look closer…on the edge…by the small lake. A mountain hut on 2007 m where you can enjoy traditional Alpine style food.
